In 2005 I returned to the southwest where the national parks and monuments dot the landscape, to places I'd visited thirty years before when I had just retired and just started my love affair with photography.
This time I was able to savor and photograph far more meaningful, beautiful images and to visit some never-before-visited places as well.
I spent more time in Arches than in that earlier visit, finding so many wonderful photo opportunities in this marvelous park.
But all the vistas were wide and glorious; the natural beauty of the sites breath-taking. Very early in the morning or just at sunset, those special times when the sun's rays warmed the scenes and so often gave them an almost unearthly glow, my camera captured the magic of those electrifying moments.
